Pouring the basement walls
January 31, 2007 - 1 p.m. -20 feels like -30
Finishing the forms for the basement walls. The 2x12 ladder at the top is going to give us the extra height we want in the basement for our studio.
Claire had a great time at the site today. Grandpa climbed up a ladder with her and let her see the inside of the basement. He had her down by the time her mom returned with the camera. Sneaky Grandpa. Then Chuck lifted her up to show her how the cement goes from the cement truck to the pumper. When they were switching cement trucks, Chuck put her in the front of the pumper truck. We thought she'd love it, but she heard noises and thought the truck was going to move away. That might be why she looks a little apprehensive in this photo. She did admit, though, that she thought it was pretty cool to be in such a big truck.Well, I'm always amazed at how these men work in such cold conditions. We'll be heating concrete for the next couple days. Who says you can't build in winter?
